Assessment 008: Data lakehouse and AI engineering platform
A public-safe assessment of a platform class boundary. No vendor endorsement or partnership is implied.
Research Question
Can data intelligence and governed ML pipelines produce a durable operational decision object with human authority, business consequence and replay on the historical state of knowledge?
Why It Matters
Model and data lineage are not automatically the same as decision lineage. Operational decisions require context, authority and consequence records.
Public Architecture Baseline
This page reviews only public documentation and public-safe Raven research artifacts. It does not rank vendors.
What This Platform Class Does Exceptionally Well
- Strong public documentation around lakehouse, governance and ML/AI lifecycle.
- Data and model lineage can be strong inputs to decision evidence.
- AI engineering surfaces can support reproducibility and evaluation.
Evidence Review
- Public documentation supports governed data and ML lifecycle capabilities.
- The public question remains whether the business decision itself persists as a replayable evidence object.
- Raven should use data lineage as input, not claim to replace it.
Research Gap
A model run or dataset lineage is not sufficient by itself to explain a human-approved operational decision and its rejected alternatives.
Raven Hypothesis
Raven can convert governed datasets and model outputs into decision packets that preserve authority and consequence.
Potential Extension
A pilot could replay one model-informed operational decision and test if Raven preserves unknowns and business impact better than raw lineage alone.
Pilot Boundary
Read-only decision replay using an approved historical model output and operational outcome record.
